Uneven development is the disparity between the rich and the poor and their segregation in space by capitalism. This photograph perfectly depicts this concept by showing a young homeless boy, living without basic needs across from a vibrant city. The well being of a community is determined by the flow of money within a community in regards to tax revenue and job availability. Without the basis for potential profit, it is unlikely that capital will invest in underprivileged areas and the areas will remain as they were. The government uses programs such as unemployment, welfare and job training in efforts to help the victims of uneven development.
