Exploration of social dance in musical theater choreography. Students will have the opportunity to analyze how dances created by America’s oppressed black and queer communities have been used in the Broadway Musical. Students will experience elements of multiple social dances and apply this vocabulary to strategies of dance improvisation for the stage and screen. This is not a technique class.
