DMIN students are often drawn to this professional degree because of a deep question with which they wrestle - a desire to reframe and address a pressing need they have observed as leaders within a faith community. They come to this work in pursuit of a way to address the challenges of our times with responses that are intellectually and theoretically compelling and also theologically rich and rooted. The DMIN program at Drew seeks to train and equip courageous leaders who can observe and analyze their context with intentionality, think deeply, and speak prophetically to these concerns in our challenging times.
This course will introduce DMIN students in Courageous Leadership to the work and scholarly commitments of the Drew Theological School Faculty. These faculty will be available to Courageous Leadership students as academic advisors in the project phase of the program. In addition to deepening their knowledge of and relationship with these faculty resources, students will build skills in biblical and theological research. These methods will allow student to respond to our challenging times with a more robust and theologically grounded analysis of the concerns they face in the practice of ministry. This course will enhance the leadership skills of our DMIN students as they theologically and speak prophetically in the pulpit and in the public square.
