Students will engage the issue of homelessness and the role faith communities play in addressing it through Drew University’s Neighbors-in-Need Project and its partner, Family Promise. Through both praxis and reflection, students will grapple with present-day challenges to end homelessness in Morris County and in select U.S cities within the Family Promise network. They will work in teams to assist either with the implementation of a public engagement campaign in Morris County or the training of Family Promise affiliate providers virtually in select localities across the United States. By the end of the course, students will be able to intervene on homelessness using a range of strategies and tactics.
