This asynchronous introductory course for masters’ students is designed to both provide familiarity with and lay a foundation for lifelong critical and constructive interpretation of the New Testament. Students will develop skills in close reading of biblical texts, engagement with the traditions and contributions of biblical scholarship, and reflection upon the hermeneutical process of reading the New Testament from a variety of perspectives – yours and others. This seminary introduction to the New Testament invites students into a space where the academy and church meet.
