This course provides fundamental information about how computers work, using the Python programming language to create apps that solve problems involving different types of data. Students will learn to design, implement, document and test programs, and they will also gain experience with software language concepts, such as iteration, decision, user-defined functions, and lists. Graphics, gaming and data mining will be explored. No previous programming experience is expected or needed. Prospective computer science majors or minors should begin with this course, which is also appropriate for students who want to develop some programming skills, even if they do not plan to take any further computer science courses.
This class meets from 10:25AM to 11:30AM M/W/F in Brothers College Room 21.
